Cold drawn steel is a multi pass, multi process, and cyclic process. Due to the limitation of the tensile strength of the metal, the reduction rate of the cross-sectional area of cold drawn steel in each pass is generally less than 40%, so it needs to go through multiple drawing processes from raw materials to finished products.

The characteristic of cold drawing process is to use external force to act on the front end of the pulled metal, pulling the metal billet out of the mold hole smaller than the cross-section of the metal billet, increasing its length and reducing the cross-section. It is commonly used to produce products with very small cross-sectional dimensions, such as thin metal wires, thin metal pipes, steel wires, etc; In addition, it can also be used to produce large-diameter profiles or pipes, as well as seamless steel pipes below 50mm, and the product size is accurate and the surface is smooth.
