1、 What is steel profile?

Steel profiles refer to steel materials with different cross-sectional shapes at the bottom, top, and sides, which are processed into various protruding shapes such as H-shaped, I-shaped, U-shaped, etc. through processes such as rolling, drawing, forging, and cold bending during the production process. They have different cross-sectional shapes, as well as different specifications such as length and thickness, and can be used in different engineering projects.

2、 The use of steel profiles

Steel profiles are currently one of the most commonly used materials in building structures, and have been widely used due to their high strength, light weight, and strong durability. The main uses are as follows:

1. Used in the construction of building structures such as industrial buildings, bridges, high-rise buildings, etc.

2. Used in mechanical manufacturing, such as manufacturing tools, machinery equipment, transportation equipment, etc.

3. Used for manufacturing pipelines and storage tanks, such as steam pipelines, oil and gas pipelines, and storage tanks.

3、 Classification of steel profiles

According to the different cross-sectional shapes and sizes of steel profiles, we can divide them into the following categories:

1. H-beam: H-beam, also known as I-beam, is named after its cross-sectional shape that resembles the Chinese character "gong". Widely used, mainly for beams and columns in industrial construction and bridge construction.

2. I-shaped steel: I-shaped steel, also known as double T-shaped steel, is named after its cross-sectional shape that resembles the capital letter "I". It is also widely used, mainly for frames and columns in heavy industries and civil buildings such as water conservancy and electricity.

3. U-shaped steel: The cross-sectional shape of U-shaped steel is a prismatic shape resembling the letter "U", which is less commonly used in building structures and mainly used in storage and transportation, pipelines, manufacturing machinery and equipment, and other fields.

4. Angle steel: Angle steel is an L-shaped steel with equilateral angles, generally divided into hot-rolled angle steel and cold-formed angle steel. It has wide applications in fields such as construction, machinery manufacturing, and equipment installation.

5. C-shaped steel: C-shaped steel, also known as lightweight steel, has the characteristics of light weight and high strength, and is widely used in lightweight steel frame residential buildings, automotive parts, industrial equipment, solar brackets, and other fields.

In short, steel profiles are widely used in modern construction and manufacturing industries and are one of the indispensable materials. In construction projects, different profiles are required to achieve different goals, and the flexibility and plasticity of steel materials make it an irreplaceable material option.
